SUMMARY:Casting light on the genetics of age-related hearing loss: Insights from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging
DESCRIPTION:Date et heure : 26 septembre 2024 12 h 00\n\n\nDescription\nAge-related hearing loss (ARHL) impacts approximately one-third of individuals over 65. While genetics is known to play an important role in ARHL, our understanding of the precise genetic factors remains incomplete. This presentation will outline how we have used genomic and audiologic data from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) to bridge this knowledge gap. This talk will provide exciting updates on how by combining automated phenotyping strategies with large-scale data from the CLSA, we have been able to uncover genes involved in various age-related hearing traits.\n\n
