Biographie
Mark Yaffe is a tenured Full Professor in the McGill University Department of Family Medicine where he has held a number of administrative positions. In 2007 he was awarded the Inaugural Prix d’Excellence for Advancement of Teaching of Family Medicine by the Quebec College of Family Physicians. He has published almost 90 papers and book chapters and made 186 academic presentations on topics that include family caregiving, elder abuse, depression in the elderly, multi-morbidity, self-care, and doctor-patient relationship. This work was recognized in 2014 by a Lifetime Achievement Award in Research from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. In that year he was also the recipient of the Inaugural Award of Distinction for care of older adults by a family physician within and beyond the walls of one’s practice, granted jointly by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Canadian Geriatrics Society.
